This painting captures a magical moment between night and morning. A white cat, with wide yellow eyes and sharp claws, is just about to catch a purple mouse under the glowing full moon. The cat’s fur blends into the swirling night sky, filled with stars and dreamlike clouds.
The mouse looks mystical, and digital…almost like a creature from another world, with digital echoes coming from his ear and legs that turn into ribbons. It’s leaping away just in time, as if it’s escaping not just the cat—but the night itself.
Behind them, the moon shines brightly while the first colors of sunrise begin to rise, hinting at a new day. This painting feels like a frozen moment between light and dark, instinct and magic, where anything is possible.

I painted this piece live under a glowing full moon at one of my favorite gatherings—tucked away off Highway 50, just a few miles from the east shore of Lake Tahoe. My friend Joe used to throw these unforgettable campout celebrations filled with heavy bass, wild energy, and a deep sense of connection to the land, sky and friends!
The painting came together with an effortless flow, like it wanted to be born. By the time the sun began to rise, I was nearly finished—but then something magical happened. As the light started peeking through the trees, it shone directly behind my canvas. The reds and oranges you see in the painting weren’t planned—they were the actual sunrise glowing through the back of the canvas. It felt like I was tracing the sunlight itself as it touched the surface, guiding my final strokes.
I lived in Tahoe for about eight years and painted at many of these outdoor gatherings. Each one left its mark on me, and this piece captures the spirit of that world—untamed, harmonious, and full of transformation.
