“Drift” is a surreal, multidimensional eruption — a burst of vision, thought, and emotion that explodes outward from a vanishing point hidden deep on the right side of the canvas. Like a psychic release or cosmic transmission, everything flows from that origin, sending waves of color, form, and feeling drifting across the piece.
The eye is drawn first to the right — where light, circuitry, and spirit collide. A woman’s steady gaze emerges from the heart of this energy, grounded yet electric, as if she’s the source of it all. Around her, crystal-like structures and abstract symbols expand and fracture, giving way to deep reds, glowing golds, teals, purples, and dark blues.
From that central spark, the energy drifts leftward — softening, unraveling, becoming more dreamlike. Faces appear and dissolve, shapes shift like memories or echoes. In the middle of it all, an arm reaches forward, palm open wide — not in fear, but with calm confidence. It’s a bold gesture of trust, release, and stepping into the unknown. From the hand, a liquid-like energy spills out, flowing freely into the surrounding current. Maybe it’s memory. Maybe truth. Whatever it is, it’s being given without hesitation — a fearless surrender to the moment.
Behind it all, a quiet moon hovers, soft and distant — anchoring the scene in calm. It brings stillness to the storm, reminding us that even in moments of intensity, there is peace behind the pulse.
Despite the chaos, the painting is meditative — as if drifting through the aftermath of revelation. It’s about that moment when something internal breaks open and you’re no longer the same. You’re not falling apart — you’re expanding.

Drift was born in the garage of my best friend Bethany’s house — a space I called my studio for over a year and one of my favorite creative sanctuaries. There was something special about that time, that place. It gave me room to expand — literally and creatively. It was during this time that something inside me truly ignited. I was feeling explosive with my art — like I had finally tapped into what I was really meant to be doing. Painting wasn’t just a passion anymore — it was becoming my purpose.
This particular idea started with a simple sketch: a large circle with vertical and horizontal lines flowing from a vanishing point on the right side of the page. I didn’t know exactly what I was going to paint, but I knew it was going to be an explosion of energy — something that felt like it was bursting out into existence.
The original canvas is six feet tall by eleven feet wide — the largest I’ve ever stretched. It had to be big. The scale was essential for the energy I wanted to express. I wanted the viewer to feel immersed in the motion, like they were being pulled into the current or drifting through it.
This piece is about release, transformation, and confidence. It’s the moment something internal breaks open and flows outward — not in destruction, but in expansion. Drift is a surrender to that flow… and a celebration of where it takes you.
