At the base, clock chimes hang in shadow — a quiet symbol of time lost to confusion and darkness. To the left, a ship tilts precariously, perhaps sinking, echoing the feeling that everything is falling apart. To the right, distorted faces twist and turn across the midsection, embodying that tangled, mind-spun state where emotion and thought collide. Rising from this foundation of uncertainty, shadowed faces emerge, their expressions heavy with sadness, disorientation, and mental unrest. In the center, the tension erupts in a single, visceral moment: a screaming face — the release — raw and unfiltered, pouring out everything that’s been held inside. Above, the chaos begins to lift, brushstrokes opening into lighter tones and softer movement. At the very top, a calm, almost smiling face emerges — the letting go, the quiet after the storm, the peace that comes when you’ve finally surrendered it all.

In this piece, I wanted to capture the emotional journey that builds up to a breaking point — and the liberation that follows. You can see the screaming face near the center — that raw, unfiltered eruption — surrounded by expressions of confusion, sadness, and a kind of mental chaos. It’s like being completely mind-fucked, caught in a whirlwind of emotion, as the smaller faces twist and turn through the middle of the painting.
But as your eye moves upward, there’s a shift. That energy starts to lift. The topmost figure — calm, almost smiling — represents the final moments of release. The letting go. The freedom that comes when you’ve finally moved through the storm and come out the other side.
This piece is about that whole cycle: the pressure, the rupture, and ultimately, the peace.
