Crocus and Daffodil Bee

This piece is one of my favorite additions to The Spring Bee Collection. I really loved how the crocus flowers and daffodils contrasted each other and the rest of the color scheme really came together for me. I was living up at about 9,300 ft elevation at the time in the mountains west of Boulder Colorado. It was my most peaceful studio space…as I painted the first 15 pieces of The Spring Bee Collection I was alone but had many mountain friends including the hummingbirds, the bees, the deer, the moose, the bear…and an unobstructed view of 20 miles of the continental divide all the way up to Long’s peak …a true mountain life:)
